IMA/EFM Magnesium Awards EUROGUSS 2020 Europe

Call for Awards Closed

IMA/EFM Magnesium Awards
Euroguss 2020 Europe
(Nuremberg, 14-16 January 2020)

Three parts to be awarded - 1st, 2nd, 3rd

The International Magnesium Association (IMA) and the Europäische Forschungsgemeinschaft Magnesium e.V. (EFM) organize a Magnesium Awards presentation during the 2020 Euroguss fair in Europe in partnership with Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie (BDG) as done during 2018 Euroguss.

Who can apply?

  • European Casting Companies (die-casters with series production, gravity casting companies with prototype).
  • Three parts will be awarded (1st, 2nd, 3rd).

Your own company, a customer, or anyone else can make a nomination whether or not they are an IMA or an EFM member. Include detailed descriptions addressing the criteria outlined below along with photographs. IMA and EFM request, for judgment and for promotion by each organization, two physical parts.

The merit of entries will be based on the following criteria:

  • innovation
  • technology
  • impact
  • synergies
  • competitive material displacement
  • economics

A peer review panel of European experts will judge the nominations during the EFM-Seminar in Aalen on 23/24 October 2019. Winners receive considerable publicity throughout IMA, EFM and BDG.

Deadline to submit entries is Friday, 27 September 2019. CLOSED

Tips on Preparing an Effective Entry

Be sure your entry is well prepared and includes important details including photos, drawings, sales literature, and any other supporting material that may be relevant, and can be submitted electronically. Photos and drawings will be duplicated (digital materials preferred). Legibility is very important. Be sure the entry information is thorough. Lack of information may penalize entries. Use additional pages along with the entry form when describing your application. Highlight the unique features of your entry with respect to the judging criteria noted.

Duplicate physical parts must be sent to the two individuals listed below and received no later than the deadline date:

IMA and EFM will promote the results of the award contest and the event on their websites

All entries received shall become the property of IMA and EFM. A panel of independent judges chosen by IMA and EFM including one BDG representative shall select winners.

Submission of an entry acknowledges the right of the International Magnesium Association (IMA) and Europäische Forschungsgemeinschaft Magnesium e.V. (EFM)  to use the entry for exhibition, publication and promotion at IMA's and EFM’s sole discretion. Entry into the competition constitutes permission to use the entrant’s design and his, her, or its name, likeness, and affiliation for advertising purposes without further compensation.
