To Make Your Hotel Room Reservations
Reservations can be made online through the following hotel link:
PLEASE NOTE: Travel Visa Requirements… it is recommended that all delegates review the visa requirements for entering Hungary and apply for any visa documentation you may need as soon as possible.
Your passport is your ticket to Hungary - Hungary is part of the European Union, and everyone entering the country is required to have a valid passport. American, Canadian and EU passport holders can stay in Hungary for up to 90 days for travel or business without a visa, as long as the passport is valid for at least three months beyond the visit.
International visitors can expect at least a probing question or two at the border or airport. Normal baggage and personal possessions should be no problem — but plants, animals, and weapons are among the items that may be prohibited or require additional documents before they’re allowed in.
The International Magnesium Association (IMA) is aware of a scam where housing groups contact association members and exhibitors to "assist" with hotel reservations. All room reservations should be made directly with the hotel.
IMA has sufficient room blocks to accommodate our attendees and exhibitors at the IMA Convention rates. These other groups claim they can get cheaper rates if you book with them. Such companies to avoid, as they are not affiliated with IMA or the upcoming events in Budapest include:
Should you receive an email or phone call from any of these companies, IMA strongly recommends you DO NOT make your hotel reservation with any third party vendor. If you have already made hotel reservations through an unauthorized vendor, IMA is unable to guarantee the reservation is valid and recommends that you cancel immediately before you incur charges.
There is the potential to be left without a room and to lose money paid in advance if you book through them. A similar scam a few years ago caused several attendees to arrive in San Diego with no hotel room ever booked for them.
