EUROGUSS 2020: The winners of the Die Casting Competitions have been decided

On 14 January 2020, the winners of the Die Casting Competitions were announced at the award ceremony during EUROGUSS 2020.

The contests are held for the most important casting materials aluminium, zinc and magnesium and are conducted by the respective professional associations. They are designed to showcase the high quality, diverse areas of application and potential of die casting. The aim is to boost interest in light metals and demonstrate the capacity and innovative strength of the participating foundries.

Magnesium Die Casting Competition

  • 1st place: Magnesium Piston - Chainsaw, Andreas Stihl AG & Co, KG
  • 2nd place: „High-Voltage“ Inverter HousingStolfig, Leichtbau Kompetenzzentrum GmbH
  • 3rd place: Cockpit Cross Member with visible Surfaces, GF Casting Solutions
  • 3rd place: Motorcycle Cylinder Head Cover, DGH Heidenau GmbH & Co. KG
  • Special Technology Prize: Newly developed environmentally friendly Sand System, Metallgießerei Stauss
  • Special Technology Prize: Newly developed environmentally friendly Sand System, Bindur GmbH

The Component Competition is hosted by EFM (European Association for Magnesium) and IMA (International Magnesium Association).
