IMA Leadership Elected at 75th Annual IMA World Magnesium Conference

Todd Olson to serve as president, Nic Andrews to serve as treasurer of the
International Magnesium Association
New Orleans, La. (May 2018) – Members of the International Magnesium Association (IMA) have cast their ballots for new leadership at the 75th Annual IMA World Magnesium Conference in New Orleans. Todd Olson, chief financial officer of Twin City Die Castings Co., was re-elected to serve a one-year term as president of the IMA, and Nic Andrews was elected to serve a one-year term as IMA treasurer as well as a three-year term on the IMA board of directors.
Over the past 14 years, Olson has held leadership positions in the sales, engineering, international business and finance departments of Twin City Die Castings Co. and currently serves on their board of directors. Twin City Die Casting Co. is an aluminum and magnesium die caster with three Midwestern locations in the United States. Active in IMA since 2010, Olson has served on the IMA executive committee and board of directors since 2014.
Andrews, executive chairman and CEO of Magontec Limited, was elected to serve a one-year term as the treasurer of IMA, serving previously as a vice president. Andrews brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience to IMA and its executive committee, and has a background in funds management and investment banking before becoming a prominent leader in the magnesium industry.
In addition to the new leadership of the executive committee, the following five members were elected to serve three-year terms for IMA on the board of directors:
- Horst Friedrich, Institute of Vehicle Concepts
- Alan Luo, The Ohio State University
- Rick McQueary, Mag Specialties
- Walter Treiber, Chicago White Metal Casting, Inc.
- Dave Wanless, ICL/Dead Sea Magnesium
